Not Voices, but Technique

The distinguished Ms. Prada is correct. The voices are probably healthier than ever before in history, because people are healthier, but due to the cost of instruction, the pressure to succeed, life, students are not learning good technique. They are winging it. I fear most careers will be short lived, almost like a transient singer, one recording and it is over. This is sad. I know I spend as much time as I can with students. I no longer look at the clock. I am trying to solve their vocal problems, improve and create technique. I hate it, when a new student wants me to work miracles for their Met audition, next week. You work like a dog, and then they are gone. The discipline is gone. Sad!
