Janos Kaufman
The size of the house is not what determines vocal weight. The composer places the demands on the voice in the score. If you sing on your capital, you will have a short career. You can think of more examples of folks who though of themselves as absolutely able to sing anything put in fornt of them and compare that with Kraus who knew better and lived to tell about it. I am not attacking what Kaufman is doing. I am just pointing out a commonly held misconception.RP
