The Weight of Singing

IMO what we saw yesterday was insufficient vocal technique. Weight change, does not have to affect professional singing. Golly, I have been every size under the sun. Muscles work more efficiently in their long position. Gravity is the Devil in singing. Ms. V. has never learned how to "Mount the Breathe", either did the Tenor. Met audiences are being "taken in" by the spectacle of Opera and the grand name of The Metropolitan Opera, rather than good singing. Some conductor, should put his foot down. Careful, Jimmy was my accompanist in Grad School. We are having high school performances at the Met. But, imagine, what must things have been like in say, 1800?
