It is a shame we age. If only we could sing upside down and use gravity to its advantage. With good technique, good health, we should be able to sing for ever, and all kinds of music, classical and popular. But we age, we forget technique, some never had good technique. But the joy of singing goes on. Some told Horowitz he had made some mistakes in his later life. He responded, "Did you notice how I made the mistakes." Sometimes the aging process improves too. We don't take chances. We slow down a little. We have knowledge of interpretation. There are some songs, I never understood until I hit 50. |
