On WFMT

I have recently updated my office sound system to listen to WFMT in my office. IMHO, I believe WFMT is one of our finest Classical Music Stations with outstanding, educated Hosts. As I listened to all the Coronation Music programmed, I did hear a number of singers. 

My response has to be, They do take chances. The connecting of intervals of a third or greater were a chance situation. I remember, Miss Steber, hammering this into my brain. But, I also remember Victor Babin, hammering the same comment on the piano. Have we lost technique in music. Is it a sing to get it done situation or is there actual technique being taught to current day Opera Singers?
